Liquor Licensing

Specialisms

  • Hotel, Pub and Restaurant licence applications
  • New licences
  • Personal licences
  • Premises licences
  • Alterations to licensed premises

Under the Licensing Act 2003 licensing laws have changed dramatically. Since 24 November 2005, Justices' licences are no more.

John Arnold, the Partner in charge of licensing, has been involved in many applications for new licences under the 2003 Act and can assist you with any queries you may have.

From February 2004, existing licence holders have had to apply for personal and premises Licences. These licences are required for not only premises selling liquor but also, premises where hot food or hot drinks are sold after 11pm.

The Implementation of the new act remains the subject of considerable discussion and controversy and knowledge of the up-to-date position is essential.
